Inspectors appointed by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC) inspect ALL long-term care (LTC) homes at least once a year to verify whether the LTC home operators are in compliance with the existing legislation, regulations, standards and policies relating to the care and the services that the home operators are required to provide to their residents. The requirements related to standards and policies can be found in the Long-Term Care Facility Program Manual in the form of standards and supporting criteria. When Ministry inspectors find that a home operator does not meet one or more of these requirements, they issue a finding of unmet standard(s)/criteria to the operator of the home. A citation under legislation is issued when a LTC home operator is in violation of the legislation or regulations that govern that home. The home operator must submit a Plan of Corrective Action to the MOHLTC for approval and implement the approved plan within a specified length of time.
Shalom Manor's most recent annual inspection was July 1 to June 30, 2010.
